From Vicar Game, Found Festival 2014:
“I am a long way from here. My participation in this exhibition is vicarious, and my experience of this exhibition space is blind. I can work only with that which is visible. All that is visible, from here, is the vicariousness of my vision.
I am willing to believe that a more tangible experience of this exhibition is possible. I am willing to imagine that you are having such an experience. I am going to attempt to obtain the pretence of a tangible experience by using your sensory faculties as proxy.
I realise that I cannot see this space solely from my point of view, but I don’t want to see it from anybody else’s, either. To rectify this issue, this document contains instructions that will help you to perform my looking on my behalf.
Obviously, your performance of me looking is not the same as me looking. The imagined person-who-looks won’t be me, but it won’t be you either. It will be neither both of us nor neither of us; I hope we can reach a happy medium.
Of course, it will be necessary for you to tell me what you have imagined me to have seen – otherwise how can I pretend to have seen it?”
If you have completed the instructions outlined in the manual, please fill in the form below.
If you have enjoyed being me, you may wish to tell me how to be you.
